About Us...

So Asia was developed by Ashok Shrestha based on his extensive experience as a restaurant owner. Although the basic concept is not unique it is differentiated by the offering of five different cuisines; Chinese, Malaysian, Thai, Indian and Singaporean. It offers “all you can eat” fixed prices for lunch and dinner with higher price points for Friday and Saturday evenings. There are also special prices for children aged under 10 as well as the availability of food such as chicken nuggets giving So Asia a strong family proposition.

Although buffet type restaurants can be perceived as low quality, great care has been taken in So Asia to consistently provide high quality food. In addition there is a strong customer service ethic and emphasis on customer satisfaction. Most importantly the factors critical to success in launching a new restaurant and quickly achieving profitability are well understood.

Ashok has perfected the So Asia buffet concept by opening and running a number of restaurants in the past few years:

His first buffet restaurant was opened in Folkstone in May 2001. It is a 100 seat restaurant that has been highly successful.
The next site was in Margate, where a 300 seat restaurant was opened in December 2001.
The third restaurant opened in Aldershot in October 2003 and has also been hugely successful.
Tonbridge opened January 2005.
The flagship restaurant of the group will open its doors in Camberley in October 2006. This is the restaurant where all of the in-house training for franchisees will take place.
Shortly after the opening of Camberley, our first Franchisees will begin trading in their own restaurant in Worthing.
